Packaging Design
AMD's design staff has experience designing corrugated packaging for a variety of products and industries.
Structural Packaging Design
AMD can design your package by incorporating all presentation and protective requirements. To protect products during shipment, air cells, inserts, or other interior corrugated forms can be used to keep the product suspended inside the package. This can eliminate the need for other forms of interior packaging such as die cut foam. AMD can arrange drop testing to simulate the forces a box might be subjected to during shipment to determine if a given design has the protective features you need.
Structural packaging design also takes into account the palletizing and stacking requirements of your product. The weights of the boxes and the palletizing configuration must be analyzed to keep the corrugated boxes from crushing during shipment or storage. Extra strength corrugated board or double wall board can be utilized to provide additional strength. The shipping and storage environment of the package should also be considered. If the box will be subjected to very low temperatures or stored in a freezer, for example, a special adhesive can be used to insure the box does not lose its structural integrity.
Cosmetic Packaging Design
Packaging for cosmetics has a unique set of requirements. When cosmetics are shipped in a die cut box, often a set of products needs to be cushioned and secured in a certain place within the package to prevent damage, and when the product reaches its destination all the components need to be in the right place for a professional appearance. Interior corrugated packaging can be used to secure and cushion. Also, to improve the appearance of your cosmetic product inside the package, AMD can print on both the inside and outside of the box or work with you to upgrade the graphics for your package. Cosmetics is just one of the many industries in which AMD has a track record of design excellence.
Design to Reduce Material Usage
If an effort to reduce source material (corrugated board) that is used to produce each package, AMD can examine alternative box styles or redesign the package completely. A secondary benefit of using less corrugated board per box is to reduce your cost per unit.
Design Software
Our CAD software allows us to first design and then produce samples of any design.
